Are you a stay a home mom looking for ways to earn money from the comfort of your home?
I totally get you.
With two kids under the age of 5, I knew there was no way I could juggle a full time job, keep up with strict deadlines and be able to give my little ones the attention they needed.
I desperately wanted something that I liked doing, something that paid me well and something that was flexible. And so I did what anyone in my position would do – I researched what options I had.
I realized that there were a LOT of options to choose from.
The world has changed so much in the last five years alone and one trend thats emerged is the increase in online, remote jobs. It’s no longer considered weird or even unique to be sitting in your pjs making thousands of dollars from the comfort of your home.
Today I want to deep dive with you into the top side hustle ideas that are flexible and high paying. These are the IDEAL kinds of ways that stay at home moms can make a part time or even a full time income from home.

Blogging
Blogging makes it to the top of the list because this is my personal favourite way to make money as a stay at home mom. What began as a tiny, unknown blog has turned into an asset that makes me money while I sleep.
The best part about blogging is that it brings in passive income. What this means is that the money you make is not linked to your time. Unlike other jobs that pay you based on the hours of work you’ve put in, blogging works more like a business.
You put in the hard work upfront but once that’s done, you literally make money while you sleep.

Freelancing
I’ve worked as a freelancer for years and have made thousands of dollars along the way. In my opinion, starting out as a freelancer is the fastest and easiest way to start making money from home.
What I liked the most about freelancing was the ability to work with different businesses all over the world.
The downside is that it does not earn you passive income the way blogging does; the amount you earn is linked with the time you put in.
There are a couple of simple steps you need to take in order to get started:
- Find a freelancing website where you can sign up (I recomend Fiverr as its the most well known and beginner friendly platforms to get started)
- Create a strong profile
- Create high converting gigs

Selling Printables
Selling printables on platforms like Etsy is a great option for moms. You can create digital items like planners, calendars, or worksheets and sell them without needing to manage physical inventory.
With just a computer and design software, you can create digital products at your own pace. The best part? Once you create a digital file, you can sell it endlessly without the hassle of shipping or printing. It’s an ideal passive income stream.
Creating printables and selling them is a super fun way to earn money. You can sell your printables on a platform like Etsy or on your own blog or on both!
I sell printables on both my Etsy shop and my blog.
Proofreading
If you have a keen eye for detail, proofreading is a fantastic way to earn money from home. You donât need a degree, and many companies hire beginners. Proofreaders can earn anywhere from $1,000 to six figures annually, depending on the workload and experience.
Many moms I know started proofreading as a side gig and eventually transitioned it into a full-time career. This flexibility allows you to grow your income at your own pace.
Print-on-Demand
Print-on-demand allows you to design products like T-shirts or mugs without needing to manage inventory. Platforms like Etsy make it easy to sell your designs, and companies like Printify handle the production and shipping.
This is a great way for creative moms to make money on a flexible scheduleâperfect for working during nap times or after bedtime.
Online Surveys
While taking online surveys wonât make you rich, itâs a flexible way to earn a bit of extra income. Many moms use survey platforms like Swagbucks or Survey Junkie to earn around $50 to $100 per month.
Itâs a low-commitment way to earn during free moments, such as while your kids are napping.
Virtual Assistant
Being a virtual assistant (VA) allows moms to handle various tasks, like managing emails or social media for businesses. It doesnât require extensive training, just strong organizational skills and internet access.
VAs have the flexibility to set their own hours, making it ideal for moms balancing work and family.
A skilled VA, particularly one who specializes in e-commerce or executive-level tasks, can earn $2,000 to $8,000 per month depending on workload and client base.
Social Media Manager
If youâre savvy with social media, becoming a social media manager is a great option. Many businesses need help managing their online presence, and tasks include creating posts, scheduling content, and responding to followers.
This side hustle is flexible and can be done from home, making it ideal for busy moms.
Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing lets you earn commissions by promoting products and services that you love. Itâs a flexible side hustle for moms, and it works well if you have a blog or an active social media presence.
I personally love affiliate marketing because it allows me to recommend products that I love while generating passive income from blog posts I wrote years ago.
I am an affiliate for the following popular programs: Amazon Assocaites, Clickbank, Shareasale, Impact. I promote products on these programs and I generate commissions whenever anyone buys after clicking on my links. Sounds simple? It is.

Online Tutoring
If you have strong knowledge in subjects like math or science, online tutoring could be a profitable side gig. Tutors can earn anywhere from $10 to $30 an hour depending on the subject and experience, and the work is flexible enough to fit around your familyâs schedule.
Become a Potty Training Coach
Become a what??
When I started my parenting blog, I wrote an honest, 3000 word blog post on how I potty trained my child in 3 days.
That post went viral on Pinterest. I went on to make thousands of dollars from my potty training posts.
Until then, I had no idea how crazily profitable this niche was.
The truth is that parents are desperate for guidance on how to navigate this messy, tiring milestone. They’ll do anything to get some help in this regard and get their children successfully potty trained.
If you’re a mom then you’ve definitely handled potty training.

Selling handmade crafts on Etsy or at local markets can be a fun way for creative moms to make extra money. Whether it’s jewelry, knitting, or custom clothing, thereâs demand for unique, handmade products.
Transcribing
Transcription work involves converting audio files into text. Itâs a simple side hustle that doesnât require previous experience. Many moms find it convenient to do from home, and the pay ranges from $10 to $20 per hour.
Baby Equipment Rental
If you have baby gear thatâs no longer in use, you can rent it out on platforms like BabyQuip. This side hustle allows you to earn money passively, especially if you live in an area with frequent travelers.
Writing a Book
Writing a book is a long-term side hustle that can be done from home. Whether you want to write a novel, childrenâs book, or guide, this can be a fulfilling way to share your creativity while earning an income.
Which side hustle is right for me?
With so many side hustles to choose from, its hard to know which one is the right one for you.
The key thing is to know YOURSELF well.
What are you passionate about? What can you see yourself doing everyday and loving it?
It’s also important to know what your goal is.
Are you trying to make an extra $100/month? Are you trying to start something that can potentially grow into a full time business?
Are you interested in making money right now? Or are you willing to put in the hard work now and reap its benefits in the form of long term passive income?
Once you ask yourself these questions, it’ll be easier for you to know which is the best path for you forward.

But I felt overwhelmed. I’m the most un-techy person on earth.

I started reading income reports of popular bloggers in my niche. These got me so excited and I finally took the plunge.
Looking back, my only regret is: WHY DIDN”T I START SOONER!

3. Selling Printables
A few years ago, I honestly didn’t even know what a printable was.
When I entered the world of blogging I kept reading about how selling printables was a great way to monetize your site.
It wasn’t until I started selling printables myself that I learned what a cool way it was to make money from home!
You don’t need much to get started selling printables: just a laptop, a free and awesome website like Canva and a platform to start selling. This could be a place like Etsy or your own blog.
This is a great way to generate income because once you’ve created a digital file, you can sell it repeatedly without worrying about printing or shipping. Simply upload your design, and customers handle the rest by downloading it after purchase.

I hope these side hustle ideas helped give you some inspiration. The only thing left is to pick the job that excites you the most and begin earning from home!
